Lord David Evans gives keynote speech at Lithuanian business conference

Lord David Evans represented Newsdesk Media at the Lithuanian Business Confederation Congress at Vilnius University, where he gave a keynote speech on the importance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to trade and economic growth.

Speaking shortly before Lithuania’s Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius delivered his address, Lord Evans drew upon his own experience as a member of the House of Lords Select Committee on SMEs, and highlighted the need for government to give its support and encouragement to such businesses. He identified high-tech sectors – ranging from internet and communications technologies to laser technology and medical research – as key areas in which extensive prospects exist for Lithuania, and also highlighted cyber security as an immediate and vital area presenting business opportunities.
