ICSS Journal Vol 3 No 3

Against the backdrop of widespread corruption allegations in sport, some of the world’s top experts gathered in Geneva in September 2015 at the Financial Integrity and Transparency in Sport (FITS) Forum to participate in an open debate on governance and the need for reform. The September/October 2015 edition of ICSS Journal addresses the issues at play and analyses the suggested solutions.

In light of the controversy over the emergence of athletes’ blood-sample data and growing distrust of sports governing bodies, articles examine the importance of data security and the proposed establishment of an over-arching integrity unit for athletics.

Other topics discussed in this issue include the expanding influence of grass roots movements in the sports sector; the reintroduction of standing areas in some of the United Kingdom’s football stadia; and the power of sport as a political, economic, and peacekeeping tool.
