ICSS Journal Vol 3 No 1

The ICSS strives to build and preserve fair competition in sport. The March/April 2015 edition of ICSS Journal provides a digest of recent events and developments in the sporting world, including coverage of the rise in cost of broadcasting rights and analysis of the ICSS Sports Index pilot study.
The publication also looks at how event managers and governing bodies are responding to new challenges posed by commercialisation, technology change and globalisation. The rapidly growing E-sports sector, for example, is vulnerable to match-fixing operations and betting fraud.
Articles also consider the evolution of the Lord’s Cricket Ground, reviewing the safety and security measures that have ensured the iconic venue’s longevity; the impact of FIFA’s ban of third-party ownership of footballers; and the effectiveness of Brazil’s security forces during the 2014 World Cup.
