Invest in Africa - The Kigali Summit

Invest in Africa 2016: the Kigali Summit is an official publication of the African Union (AU), was launched at the 27th African Union Summit in Kigali, Rwanda on 10-18 July.

Agenda 2063, The African Union’s 50-year plan, was initiated in 2013, and is well under way. The theme of this edition of Invest in Africa is the seven aspirations that underpin Agenda 2063, and the drive and innovation of the people of Africa to become a global player in all fields.

This year is the African Year of Human Rights with particular focus on the Rights of Women. Rwanda has the highest percentage of women in parliament globally, so it is apt that the rights of women dominated the discussions at the Kigali Summit, and are the focus of a number of features in this edition of Invest in Africa.

Invest in Africa 2016: the Kigali Summit includes forewords from Chairperson of the African Union Commission HE Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma; Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission HE Erastus Mwencha; President of the African Development Bank Dr Akinwumi Adesina; and President of the Republic of Rwanda HE Paul Kagame, as well as introductions from each of the African Union Commissioners.
