FIA Europe Derivatives 2014

As the most powerful and pervasive risk-management tool in the global financial system, the derivatives market provides companies and governments with the means to hedge trillions of dollars of positions in interest rates, securities, currencies and commodities.

In March 2014, industry body the Futures and Options Association was renamed FIA Europe, joining the US-based FIA (Futures Industry Association) and FIA Asia under an umbrella group, FIA Global. Derivatives 2014 – Newsdesk Media's first publication for FIA Europe, following a decade-long association with the FOA – explores the most recent developments in the derivatives marketplace as a new regulatory landscape continues to emerge in the wake of the financial crisis that saw the collapse of several leading financial institutions.

FIA Europe Derivatives 2014 was launched at the International Derivatives Expo (IDX) in London on 10 June, and includes forewords from chairman Steve Sparke and chief executive Simon Puleston Jones.
