RAF Air Power 2013 explores the range of airborne capabilities – manned, unmanned and space-based – that are available as part of the RAF’s Air Power strategy. The publication also examines the latest equipment and technology available and how this provides a competitive edge that reinforces the RAF’s credentials as a highly respected air force worldwide.
In his foreword to the publication, the Rt Hon Philip Hammond MP, UK Secretary of State for Defence, writes: "The flexibility and choice that air power offers government is considerable. In tomorrow’s uncertain world, this will increasingly range across a variety of different types of operations, from hard combat power to humanitarian assistance, evacuations and disaster relief."
Air Chief Marshal Sir Andrew Pulford, Chief of the Air Staff, also writes: "Air power underpins the way we conduct operations today, and looks set to continue this vital role throughout the 21st century."
