A tribute to the 'Few'

Posted on 14/05/2010

Newsdesk Media launched Bravery, Sacrifice, Freedom on 14 May 2010 at a special dinner to mark the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain at the RAF Museum in Hendon, London.

The publication, produced by Newsdesk Media on behalf of the Royal Air Force, is a tribute to the 'Few' who served in the Battle of Britain, and gives a detailed, historical account of how Britain and her allies overcame the Luftwaffe.

The anniversary event opened with a flypast, courtesy of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, and a parade by the Band of the Royal Air Force College. Guests included Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton, who also gave the closing remarks, as well as Battle of Britain veterans.

Newsdesk Media CEO Alan Spence gave the welcoming address, while veteran Wing Commander Tom Neil gave a detailed account of life as a Battle of Britain pilot.

The dinner also raised awareness of the RAF Museum's Battle of Britain Beacon, a multi-million pound exhibition hall in the Museum's grounds in Hendon.
