Claire Manuel – Group Editorial Director

Claire Manuel has many years’ experience in publishing, working as a journalist, editor and managing editor.

During this time she has worked on a range of consumer, customer and business-to-business publications, including projects for clients as diverse as AOL Time-Warner, Sainsbury's, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

At Newsdesk Communications, she manages the editorial and creative process for each of our clients. Together with the specialist editors and design team, she works with each client to devise a synopsis and creative template. She also oversees the production process, keeping each client fully informed of the status of their publication and working together with the client to ensure that Newsdesk Communications delivers the required product on time.

 
Paul Beaver – Editor

In his 20 years as a journalist and international broadcaster, Paul Beaver has become one of the most widely respected and sought after commentators on both civil and military subjects. He is a frequent contributor to television and radio and a well-known writer for influential aerospace and defence industry publications. He was previously responsible for Jane's Defence Weekly. He also contributes to leading media around the world.

He has an extensive knowledge of current procurement issues within aerospace and defence markets and is a contributor to the UK House of Commons Defence, Foreign & Commonwealth and Trade & Industry Committees.

Simon Michell – Editor

Simon Michell worked for many years as Managing Editor at the Jane's Information Group, with responsibility for titles such as Jane's Airports, Services & Equipment and Jane's ATC . He is the founder Editor of Jane's Aircraft Upgrades. Simon has also worked as a business analyst focusing on European defence and aerospace companies and has written articles for various magazines including Jane's Defence Weekly, International Defence Review and Le Bourget Today.

Jon Guy – Editor

Jon's career as a journalist spans more than 20 years and covers all sectors of the media. During that time journalism has taken Jon across the globe to cover events such as the 1990 FIFA World Cup. He was also part of the team that covered the 1991 Gulf Conflict for a leading national newspaper. After 12 years on national and regional newspapers, Jon entered the business press, focusing on the financial services sector, where he has successfully edited monthly, weekly and daily titles.
 
Jon has been recognised by his peers on numerous occasions and has won four individual honours at the UK Financial Services Media Awards – and the titles under his editorial leadership have won honours too.
 
Jon spent two years as Editorial Director for the Insurance Division of Informa Professional (part of Informa Plc) and founded his own company, Editorial Solutions, in January 2005.
 
He is regularly invited to appear on television and radio as an expert commentator on the insurance and financial services markets.

Jon Marks – Editor

For 20 years Jon has been a journalist and analyst focusing on international trade and financing issues – he is Associate Editor of the fortnightly International Trade Finance – and is an expert on the politics and economics of the Middle East, Euro-Mediterranean and African regions. He is author of several books and papers on international finance, Middle East and North African politics and business.

He has edited a number of Newsdesk Communications publications, including:

Darrell Delamaide – Editor

Darrell Delamaide has been a financial journalist for 30 years, starting with Dow Jones in 1975. He has also worked for Barron's, the International Herald Tribune, Institutional Investor, Euromoney, Bloomberg and AOL as a reporter, writer, editor and bureau chief. He worked for 21 years in Europe, in France and Germany, and has been on assignment in Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia and Mexico, as well as being involved in national reporting in the US. He has written two non-fiction books – one on the Third World debt crisis in the 1980s and another on post-Cold War Europe – as well as a financial thriller. He has a master's degree from Columbia University's School of International Affairs, with concentrations in Western Europe and international communications. Also, he was a Fulbright Scholar to Germany 1971-72.

Philip Butterworth-Hayes – Editor

Broadcaster, consultant and writer on global aviation affairs, Philip Butterworth-Hayes is Editor of Jane's Aircraft Component Manufacturers, Jane's World Defence Industry, and writes on civil aviation issues for The Wall Street Journal. Since 1992 he has been the European Correspondent for Aerospace America. He is a former Editor of Jane's Guide to Military Aircraft, Airports International and Interavia Aerospace Review – and is an aviation consultant to BBC Television.

Lynd Morley – Editor

Lynd Morley has been a writer and editor focusing on IT and communications for more than 25 years, starting with Computing in 1978.  Currently the editor of European Communications, she has contributed to a wide range of publications, including the Financial Times, The Times, The Guardian, Computer Weekly, Information Age and IT Decision. She has also worked with a number of not-for-profit organisations concerned with the security and privacy of electronic information.

Robert Miller

Robert Miller is a financial journalist and broadcaster, and a regular contributor to the business pages of the Daily Telegraph, the Sunday Telegraph, CNN and BBC Radio Five Live Wake Up to Money. Previous jobs include: Associate Editor, Sunday Business; Associate Editor (Economics), The Daily and Sunday Express; City Editor, Daily and Sunday Express; banking correspondent, The Times; personal finance correspondent, The Times; personal finance correspondent, The Observer; Deputy Editor, Money Observer.

Robert is a public interest member of Lautro, the old life and unit trust regulator, and a member of the Energy Institute. He is a former pension fund trustee for News International and a former member of the DTI’s Foresight Panel on small businesses. Awards include: Bradford & Bingley Personal Finance Journalist of the year (1996) and Biiba Investment Journalist of the year (1997). Short-listed UKPG Financial Journalist (1999/2000). .

Natasha de Terán is the Derivatives Columnist at Financial News and a freelance journalist. She has written for Financial News since 2000, having previously worked in the European money, bond, repo and derivative markets for close to ten years. She is also a correspondent at The Banker and is currently co-authoring a book on collateral management, Collateral: The Ultimate Guide. Emily Mann – Editor

Emily Mann has been a sub-editor and editor for eight years. She trained as a sub on the Morning Star newspaper before moving to the New Statesman magazine in 1999, where she was deputy chief sub, acting deputy editor, supplements editor, and deputy arts and books editor. She continues as a contributing editor of the New Statesman while subbing on the Guardian Review. She has worked widely in the media, including for the Independent and FT.com, and has typeset, copy-edited and proofread a number of books, most recently for Short Books. She has a BA in the History of Art and an MA in the History of Architecture, both from the Courtauld Institute of Art, London.

Andrew Rosenbaum – Editor

Andrew Rosenbaum is a reporter and editor who has worked in Europe for the past 20 years. Specialising in finance and technology, he has worked for general interest publications such as Time magazine, Business Week and The Times, as well as more specialised magazines such as Euromoney and Communications Week. He has also launched three successful magazines on technology and development.

As a corporate editor, Andrew has built a website on international business for KPMG, and has a long track record of producing case studies and white papers for European businesses. He is a graduate of Harvard College.

Richard Morris – Editor

Richard Morris is a historian and archaeologist whose wide-ranging interests include settlement and landscape, historical topography, churches and religious communities, aviation and 20th-century military history.

Richard was Director of the Council for British Archaeology (CBA) from 1991 to 1999. While there he helped to devise, launch and oversee The Defence of Britain Project – the public campaign to record the UK’s anti-invasion defences of WWII, now accessible on the internet. Today he works chiefly as a writer on archaeology and history, and as the Director of the Institute for Medieval Studies at the University of Leeds. He is the author, co-author and co-editor of a number of books, including well-regarded biographies Guy Gibson (1994) and Leonard Cheshire (2000). Alongside the larger works stands a substantial output of essays, chapters and articles, broadcasting on radio and television, and his role as a principal founder of the popular magazine British Archaeology.

In tandem with his creative work Richard has served as a Commissioner of English Heritage, and currently as Chair of the Expert Panel of the Heritage Lottery Fund and a Trustee of the National Coal Mining Museum for England. He is a Frend Medallist of the Society of Antiquaries of London, and in 2003 he was awarded the OBE for services to archaeology.

Samuel Glasser - Editor

Samuel Glasser writes about the energy and metals markets. He served as the chief corporate communications writer for the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. for 15 years and previously was the energy editor for the Journal of Commerce. He began his career in 1970 as a general assignment reporter for The Star-Ledger in Newark, NJ, and also worked for Hearst Newspapers.
